World’s frailest man continues dream of being a goalkeeper

West Brom’s goalkeeper Chris Kirkland continues his dream of playing in the Premiership, despite being the World’s Frailest Man. Currently on-loan from Liverpool, he has started the season in excellant form for West Brom and worked his way back into contention as England’s no. 1 – but has now been ruled out for 2 weeks with some sort of kidney bruise.

This follows on from a four year spell when he was limited to just 45 appearances, cementing his claim as WFM (dethroning this guy):

He hurt his ankle injury in an FA Cup match at Crystal Palace, ruling him out for the rest of the 2002/2003 season. Then a broken finger against Bolton on Boxing Day 2003 kept Chris from adding to his seven Liverpool appearances until late February. Five games later, a training ground wrist injury ended his season and with it went his chances of representing England at Euro 2004.

Keep the dream alive, Chris, we’re all rooting for you.
