If you believe the Daily Star (which would be no one), Wenger will be handed 60 million out of nowhere to spend on new players in the coming year. We assume the idea being that with Arsenal in somewhat of a transitional period, something has to be done to compete with Chelsea on a footballing and marketing front to ensure that the new 60,000 seat Ashburton Grove is filled when it opens its doors in 2006.
Even if it is true, and its about as suspect as suspect rumors come, Arsenal and Arsene could rightly wonder where such a massive amount of money had been hiding all this time.
