Say what you will about Chelsea’s egomaniacal boss, but the man certainly knows how to get a laugh. In responding to Middlesbrough keeper Mark Schwarzer’s comments that the Chelsea players lacked class because they fled the scene of their 2-1 loss without so much as a smooch on the cheek, the Portugese comedian was in rare form,
“This isn’t a case of us being bad losers,” said Mourinho in The Sun, “it is a case of someone who is not used to beating the big teams getting confused.”
“I think Schwarzer is a good goalkeeper and I never suspected he would have vision problems.”
“But he obviously didn’t see the Chelsea players exchanging shirts.”
“Don’t say stupid things just because you have won a big game.”
You can almost hear mini-Mourinho Steve Clarke laughing hysterically in the background before giving his idol a shoulder rub, a shoe polish, and a gentle testicle massage.
