Newcastle To Upstage West Ham
by Administrator on August 31st, 2006Some may think that the race for the best transfer deal of this summer was over when West Ham secured the services of Carlos Tevez and Javier Mascherano, but Newcastle once again have pulled out all the stops to put the spotlight back on them.
In a blockbuster, last minute transfer reminiscent of Tottenham’s last minute signing of Andy Booth in 2001, Newcastle have swooped in to pick up 32 year-old Antoine Sibierski from Manchester City to add to their increasingly bizarre stable of strikers including Michael Owen, Obafemi Martins, Giuseppe Rossi and Shoela Ameobi. He can also play in midfield, if that matters.
We’d tell you Sibierski’s goal record, but somehow we imagine that on a day like today it just isn’t going to make anyone feel any better about this one.

utter disgrace

All Newcastle fans beware. Roeder is great at the start, after all he got us (WHU) to 7th in year one. But he’s a one trick pony and the players will soon get bored, and when the going gets tough Roeder doesn’t have the tools to dig the results out! Bottom half finsh at best for you boys!
nnn - August 31st, 2006 at 4:47 pm
fucking disgrace

Laughable. I hate seeing players booed but for him i’ll make an exception. I want the board and manager to know how rediculous this signing is.

The Lords Player
Our Tony,
Who scores one in eleven,
50p-head be thy name,
The chances come,
Goals wont be done,
At COMS as it is in Training,
Give Bruce this day your shiny head,
And forgive us your misplaced-passes,
As we forgive those who got past against us, And lead you not into China, But deliver you from City, For thine is the corner flag, The goal kick, And the mis-kick, Forever and ever.
AMEN

It’s a joke, what makes it worse is that the mackams scored for Dwight Yorke, a player that scores goals & would have been great on a one year deal at the Toon & then we get Sibierski another Midfield/Attacker who scored 11 goals in 92 games!!!

I thought that the flowing stuff coming out of pens is INK. Apparently I was wrong.
Who wrote this shit? Antoine Sibierski’s mother?

How come there’s always someone who takes the sarcastic articles seriously?
I for one pissed myself at it. If I didn’t, I think I’d cry.
Andy - August 31st, 2006 at 6:04 pm
I feel totally disgusted to be classed as a newcastle fan. why on earth do we need a 32 year old midfielder? what a disgrace! ive just paid £482 to watch this shite play week in week out!! Bring on the championship!!!!
biz - August 31st, 2006 at 6:33 pm
Coup of the season perhaps newcastle might like to sign Phill Neville to add to that ever growing dynamic midfeild.
Chate - August 31st, 2006 at 7:34 pm
Is anyone else questioning why he was bothering with this schmuk wen he could have been down at stamford bridge gettting wayne bridge on a cheap after the cole move cleared? i mean babayaro being the only left back at the club … come on glen, think about it!
Charles - August 31st, 2006 at 8:26 pm
Please help to kick roder’s ass out of newcastle…I can’t believe that the manager like him will act like this. He is same like souness but souness could bring top strikers although he couldn’t keep them. After this time I think newcastle can’t win more match and go down to bottom of table. I thought newcastle should be takeovered and replace sheperd and roder with new one…

lol overreaction lads! lets be fair to the lad, give him his chance! in 02/03 he scored 12 goals in 37 games for lens before he moved to man city. IMO thats not a bad tally if that was coming from a midfield. Also even if it was from upfront it beats craig bellamys meagre best of 9 goals whist with us! give him his chance i say

hes 32 now though and his goal record in premiership is awful. I agree its betta having him than no one. But in whole a terrible signing. Them goals were from a striker position. I’ll give him a chance but will remain angry with todays events.

You pack of tools! Yeah its disappointing but stop whinging like a pack of bitches! Rossi is awesome and Sib is here for a year only so he’s there if we need him. We support a great club and what it needs is a bit of support and not this constant bullshite. Now your screaming for Roeders head?? We won our first game he was great, we lose our second game and he’s Souness. Maybe its the fans that follow this cycle and fuck it all up. This was always going to be a rebuilding year but we are not rebulding from 14th to 7th like last year we going from 7th to 5th and its tougher especially with a new manager and injuries to Owen and Dyer. We do need more backs and we could have done worse than try and sign Neil and team him up with Moore. Did anyone see the Aussies in the world cup. Those two were good together - the hiddink factor!

n o it doesent need support it needs good players not third rate french player, this signing has only been ,made to please the fans but it hasent work Freddie step aside and sell youve tyrned our club into a joke
dave.r - September 1st, 2006 at 2:36 am
why dont the FA move the transfer window end to june, so that supporters can see who they will be watching, before buying their season tickets,we pay £500 quid, and expect to watch good football, this sighning is a joke, what,s going on? especially the way we are treating James millner, who is one of the brightest “young” talents that we have. I also believe that Jonny Woodgates hair will soon fall out with all the acid rain,HA HA Traitor.
stu turnbull - September 1st, 2006 at 2:52 am
Nothing against the signings personally- sure they’ll try unlike like that lazy twat luque, but as a club what the fuck are you doing freddy!!?? youve had TWO years to replace shearer at least and you resort to panic buys 2 hours before the deadline because you were trying to be the astute business man-youre a bloody scrapman not victor kiam- yes duff was a good piece of business- but he aint no bloody striker. Andy Cole Freddy- remember him? got an unknown number on my mobile from last night maybe its nufc asking me to buy a pair of boots..

mags are going down i’m afraid… shame cos i have a lot of time for them… but glenn roeder is useless!
Dominic - September 1st, 2006 at 6:52 am
I knew Roeder was useless. The only reason we gave him the job is nobody else wanted to come manage us. He made two great signings - Duff and Martins…but I have no faith in his tactical ability, or lack there of. We’re going to rot in mid table this season.
BABAJIDE - September 1st, 2006 at 10:27 am
i hear he is a utility player.I hope he can also keep?

I’m optimistic.. It aint the end of the world, we did try to sign the right kind players but nothing came of it, so instead we got cover!
I’m not going to gudge anything until the end of the Janurary transfer window. I think alot of clubs have put all their eggs in one basket, and come Janurary there will be bargains to be had at the right price. After all the premiership is a business, and with the possible transfer funds available we need to make good use of them.
It could be the difference between Europe & the Champions league!
