Mourinho Gets It From All Angles

Usually Jose can get away with his cheeky remarks without so much as a chuckle and a shake of the head from the masses, but as ever the topic of slavery is probably one he should avoid in the future. Lilian Thuram told French magazine L’Equipe,

“Mourinho obviously does not know what slavery is. If he is comparing Makelele’s situation to slavery he ought to say sorry, he does not know what he is talking about. “Maybe he wanted to shock but it was not an appropriate expression.”

As if that wasn’t enough, William Gallas has further endeared himself to Chelsea and Mourinho by claiming his old boss was a bit of a tool,

“I wish Cole luck and I hope he has the patience to put up with his manager.”

“Mourinho is a good trainer but he is fickle with his players,” he added.

“What has happened to me has happened in the past to Ricardo Carvalho, Mateja Kezman, Paulo Ferreira, Asier Del Horno and Hernan Crespo.”

“He uses us for his convenience. In the past few years I have had offers from Italy and Spain but I stayed loyal to Chelsea.”

Surprsing, as Jose is always blathering on about how great the team spirit is at Chelsea. Vital Football Chelsea is none too pleased about Gallas’ rant and counters quite effectively, although considering we’re dealing with press statements in both cases, and Chelsea’s tendency to censor their players, this one is tough to call.
