Andy Gray Strongly Disagrees With Andy Gray

October 7, 2006

Boggs continues his vendetta against the man only known as “Britain’s Best Football Pundit”.

Sometimes, it’s tough to find a reason to hate Andy Gray. But 219% of the time, it’s no problem at all. This is one of those times.

Usually I focus on his primary school analysis of football tactics or famous Premiership weekend previews, or reviews, where he reads BBC match summaries out loud and passes them off as cutting insight. But as it’s an international break we’re spared such Grayisms as “Chelsea scored twice, which was good” and “West Ham beat Liverpool”, so Pardew will be happy but Benitez will be sad”.

But, of course, Andy Gray the Scot has had plenty to say about England’s prospects in this week’s Euro qualifiers.

I should point out first that Andy Gray appears to be picking up two paychecks for the price of one. His latest feature under the guise of “Britain’s Best Football Pundit” on F365 focuses on England’s potential use of 3-5-2 against Macedonia. Gray also has a column with Sky Sports, and this week chose to talk about…England’s potential use of 3-5-2 against Macedonia.

There are a couple of problems with this:

1) Gray gets two massive paychecks for the same work. Both of which are undeserved.
2) For some reason the two articles, and Gray’s opinion within them, are different.

An example?

Gray’s F365 column is titled “Why England’s 3-5-2 Formation Is A Mistake”.

His Sky Sports says “I’m not anti 3-5-2…” and “Personally, I don’t see anything wrong with trying it…”.

Fantastic. Not only is Gray a highly paid “pundit” whose opinions rival those of of a three-legged dog, but he can’t even stick to the same story when writing two articles about the same subject in the space of a week.

Now if you excuse me, I’m off to beat up some hobos.

You appear to think that Gray actually writes his columns. He, like most footballers, are too thick to connect a few ideas and have journalists do it for them In this case Gray just nodded through the journo’s work. Typical of the man and his general lack of insight.

Thankyou for the highlights in above article. I cant stand this fool Gray. I mean he should be due for retirement soon - come on skysports SORT IT OUT.. He loves chelsea and even when they have done wrong, he makes it out like they were in the right??? Hello your supposed to be a pundit and have a fair judgement?? Everytime he commentates on a Liverpool fixture he makes my blood boil - because in his eyes Liverpool cant do nothing right and he will keep reminding us how long it’s been since we won the league..!! I used to watch the final word on a sunday, but even thats a big joke because he tells the weekend football events to us like were 4yrs old.. Oh and by the way A.Gray you need some training on the analysis machine you use - halftime you dont know your arrows from your circles. Do One.

I frankly think Andy Gray was born dumb. One moment when a team of his liking such as Manchester United or their players play e.g. Rooney, he gives nothing but praise although they play like shit at times. Then when a team that he doesn’t like plays such as Liverpool, he groans about how bad they play, tries to talk trash about them even though they win.You should see how happy he is when he thinks Liverpool are in trouble e.g. when they were 3-0 down to AC Milan where he was harping they were dead and burried about a 100 times. Then who can forget one of his most recent wise comments where he said Liverpool were out of the race when they lost their 2nd game out of 5 games played at that time (he forgot there were 33 games left), but never mentioned anything when MU dropped points when they lost or drew.
I mean come on, this is 2006, no more 1966 where he can talk shit and get away with it every time.

I’ve never come across someone as ignorant, foolish and biased as Andry Gray when it comes to his comments. I sometimes really wonder why they put him on TV, is it to talk us through the game or to tease the viewer’s inteligence?

It can’t have been Martin Tyler as he didn’t mention “That glorious night in the Nou Camp”.

Doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out that he’s not really the best out there. Sometimes he’s just unbelievably biased, esp. against Liverpool.

Ahh… I love this web page. Superb article, really it is.

I want two things from Sky…

1). The removal of Mr. Gray from the telebox.

2). The promise that there shall never be another Scot employed to remark on the English football league, or the England football team.

Come on Sky people, do a bit of market research!

I notice a lot of anti grayism coming from Kopites!
If you were to put King Kenny or Mr Hansons name in for Andy Gray and swapped Everton for Liverpool then you would come to pretty much the
    same conclusion.

I dont like Gray either by the way, just think moaning Kopites are funny

    Sooo Blueboy… moaning kopites?

When we moan it’s for a good reason, not like the bitter blues. You win a game and you think you’re gonna’ win the league, you went into Europe and were like “WE ARE SO GONNA’ WIN IT THIS YEAR.” Never happened I’m afraid.

As for Andy Grey, I like him, he isn’t really biased towards Liverpool, he gives us a lot of credit most of the time.

Andy Gray is so biased TOWARD liverpool it is ridiculous. I have no idea why he loves liverpool so much. The bbc in general seem to love liverpool, overhyping them at every opportunity.

    a certain Barwick perhaps :)

    Yep Barwick.
Liverpool are brilliant, they always threaten to ‘look good’ even when they are average and crap. Agger is so good it took the renouned dribbling skill of Drogba to wrong foot him. They deserved to win the game against chelsea 4-0since they had one half decent shot with gerrard from a deflected cross, whereas chelsea only scored 1 and had 3+ other clear cut chances. Liverpool were robbed again, Bellamy was on fire and the defense won every header against Drogba so easily. Bellamy’s moustache was very sexy and reflected the stylish way he played. Liverpool are the best team in the world, they just get very unlucky very often. Gerrard and Alonso are just two of the great players we have, so don’t think they are the only ones. Lots of great players at liverpool. LOADS.

    Sky is Murdoch
Murdoch is ManUre & The Sun
    therefore
    Sky hate Liverpool
It’s easy really - if you like Liverpool, don’t pay for Sky
Watch it down the pub but listen to 5Live
thereby missing the inane dribblings of Andy ‘thick cunt’ Gray

    Chelsea are cheating scum
Even if they win it doesn’t matter because they don’t play by the rules.
Under Ranieri they were a decent football team
Since M.Urino took charge they have become a bunch of divers and cheats.

And Blueboy, Hansen isn’t a thick cunt like Gray

  17. I hate everything about Villa!

    An example?

    Gray’s F365 column is titled “Why England’s 3-5-2 Formation Is A Mistake”.

His Sky Sports says “I’m not anti 3-5-2…” and “Personally, I don’t see anything wrong with trying it…”.

I’m not sure I agree this is a poor example.

Got something to say?
