COS Reader Dave M has directed us to the Arsenal Official website where the club has apparently felt the need to educate its fans ahead of the crucial Champions League home tie against PSV tonight.
Right smack in the middle of the homepage is an article entitled “Away Goals Rule Counts After 90 Minutes Tonight“,
The away goals rule comes into play after 90 minutes tonight.
If the score is 1-0 to Arsenal at full-time, extra-time will be played.
If no further goals are scored, the game will go to a penalty shoot-out.
Either that announcement was wholly unnecessary and very patronising, or very necessary and wholly embarrassing. Why can’t they take a page from Middlesbrough and put their official site to good use, like expressing bizarre inferiority complexes?
