Latest Transfer Rumours: Raul, Berbatov, Lehmann, Ribery, Gardner, Gael Kakuta

The world of Premiership transfer gossip is full of nonsense, but some nonsense is more interesting that the other nonsense. Speculation is rife in the likes of the Mirror, Daily Mail, Times, Sun and… err… Tribal Football all do their best to predict and/or completely make up the future.

Here’s our opinion on the Premiership transfer rumours we’ve read in the papers and around the net… and if you have any thoughts, pop em in the comments.

CaughtOffside says: Morientes didn’t work out so well, and he seems the more suited of the two to the Premiership. Robbie Fowler didn’t work out that well, and he was used to the pace of the Premiership. Raul is in a steep decline and there really wouldn’t be much benefit in having him at Anfield, so we’re guessing he won’t be.

The agent of Tottenham soon-to-be-legend Dimitar Berbatov has said that there is no way the striker will leave in the summer for Manchester United or any other club.

CaughtOffside says:We’re big fans of really good players at clubs outside the big four. Seeing Owen at Newcastle, Anelka at Bolton and Berbatov at Spurs is just a small reminder that the Premiership has not gone all to hell just yet.

Arsenal keeper Jens Lehmann will open talks with the club in the next few weeks about a new contract at the club.

CaughtOffside says: Fantastic, we’re still waiting for someone to just lamp him right in the face and another year for it to happen is welcome.

French star Franck Ribery has put Arsenal and Manchester United on red alert after claiming Marseille have told him he can leave in the summer.

CaughtOffside says: JUST SIGN HIM ALREADY. SOMEONE. PLEASE.

Portsmouth will make a summer move for West Ham defender Danny Gabbidon or Tottenham’s Anthony Gardner.

CaughtOffside says: Oh f**k yes. If rumours are to be believed then Portsmouth could have some combination of Zat Knight, Djimi Traore, Titus Bramble and Anthony Gardner at the back for them next season. That will DEFINITELY stop them conceding four goals ever again.

Chelsea have landed 15-year-old French wonderkid Gael Kakuta from Lens without having to pay a penny, although owner Roman Abramovich has gifted the French club £200,000.

CaughtOffside says:Ok, what? Uh, we have this old shoe that he can have and he’ll only have to give us £200 for no apparent reason.
