Latest Transfer Rumours: Theirry Henry, Gamst Pedersen, Alex, Curtis Davies, Reo-Coker, Sidwell, Chun-Soo and Tevez

The world of Premiership transfer gossip is full of nonsense, but some nonsense is more interesting that the other nonsense. Speculation is rife in the likes of the Mirror, Daily Mail, Times, Sun and… err… Tribal Football all do their best to predict and/or completely make up the future.

Here’s our opinion on the Premiership transfer rumours we’ve read in the papers and around the net… and if you have any thoughts, pop em in the comments.

CaughtOffside Says: If that clause is really there, there’ll be a mad rush for Gamst. He may not be Ronaldo on the ball, but his technique, aerial ability and eye for a goal have made him a standout this season. He’s good enough to slot in ahead of Richardson or Fletcher/O’Shea when they need a more attacking midfielder.

Arsenal captain Thierry Henry has admitted his great admiration for Inter Milan president Massimo Moratti, saying that while he has a contract with Arsenal it would “be beautiful” to play at the San Siro.

CaughtOffside Says:We really don’t think Henry will leave. Seems like the sort of lad who, even if he really really wants to go, will stay simply to stick it to those who said he wouldn’t. But if Wenger was to get a huge offer for a 30 year old…

AC Milan are seeking talks with Chelsea over Brazilian defender Alex, currently on loan with PSV.

CaughtOffside Says:Hasn’t he got his work permit yet? Seems like it’s been ages. Alex has been a monster for PSV for a couple of seasons now and has the build and playstyle to do well in the Premiership. Can’t see Chelsea just letting him go given the lack of depth they had at centre back this season.

Tottenham boss Martin Jol has been given the go-ahead for a £15m double swoop for West Brom defender Curtis Davies and West Ham midfielder Nigel Reo-Coker.

CaughtOffside Says:Davies could be a long term replacement for King, Reo-Coker throws another “pretty good” midfielder into their squad and would probably create more selection issues than anything. The scattergun approach continues at Spurs.

Fulham are hoping to sign South Korean international midfielder Lee Chun-Soo on a season-long loan deal, with a view to a permanent transfer.

CaughtOffside Says:He’s ace in FM2007, but is actually a pretty good attacking player. The sort of transfer that, if he settles and improves, could give Fulham a key player at a relatively cheap price.

Reading midfielder Steve Sidwell is set to sign for Newcastle in the summer.

CaughtOffside Says: Wahay, Sidders and Parker running around chasing lost causes to no end, leaving humongous holes in midfield. Good players and hilarious defensive errors on the way.

Corinthians admit they would be happy to re-sign West Ham striker Carlos Tevez.

CaughtOffside Says: Of course they would, and he always said he’d return to the Brazilian club some day. But now isn’t the right time, we would expect Tevez to stay at West Ham if they stay up and – of course – leave if they go down.
