“Middlesbrough’s offer is nothing – £1million for a player like that amounts to a waiter’s tip,” quipped van Gaal.”
A slight difference in valuation, then, and reminiscent of Boro’s reaction to Tottenham’s attempts to nick Stuart Downing about a hundred times last season.
