Dimitar Berbatov’s agent is again stoking the flames of a move to Manchester United for Tottenham’s star player.

And thus, the Spurs bad-press-machine comes full circle.

After thinking we’d put an end to all this crap a few weeks ago with a few “I’m not going anywhere” statements, again via Berbs’ agent, and Martin Jol’s “I’ll off myself before we sell Berbatov” quotes, Satan incarnate Dimi’s agent claims a United offer is again being considered,

“We had a 90-minute meeting with Tottenham’s chairman Daniel Levy and with sporting director Damien Comolli over Dimitar’s future,” Danchev told Bulgarian Darik radio.

“They informed us that there’s a query from Manchester United about the possibility of Berbatov joining them.

“They (Tottenham bosses) let us believe that they want Dimitar to stay for another season because they have ambitions to finish among top four teams in the Premiership but they told us they’ll have a meeting in the next day or two to decide his future.”

Don’t like all this “led us to believe” language, but its just another football agent stirring up trouble. Then again, we can’t imagine he’s out doing all of this against the will of his client. Our best guess is that if results against United and Fulham go against us, killing off a lot of any aspirations for Top Four, speculation will only get worse and pressure will be put on the board to sell our Bulgarian star after just one season.

Via his agent, of course.
