The Daily Mail,*cough*, is today thrusting a headline upon us nearly as surprising as it’s Steve Coogan blamed for Owen Wilson’s drug spiral one. Yes, the Daily Mail is having us believe that Sven Goran Eriksson has stepped up to challenge Alan Curbishley and his injury ravaged playboys at West Ham for the signing of Adriano (known in the football world as the Brazilian James Beattie). Inter are said to have become disillusioned with Adriano’s Owen Wilson-esque party boy lifestyle and Adriano himself said of this transfer malarkey:
I don’t want to go out on loan again. I’ve already been at Parma, and at that time it was right for my career but now I really must leave for good and that’s that.”
Manchester City and West Ham battling for Adriano – superstar and Pro Evo cover boy? Unthinkable a couple of years ago and a sign of the increased competitiveness all the way down the table, which can only be good news for the Premier League.
Unless Adriano is still fat, which would make more sense.
