Two Men Enter: Walcott vs Bale, which would you choose?
September 14, 2007
It’s Two Men Enter time, and now we’re looking at two boys….Spurs’ Bale and Arsenal’s Walcott…Who do you choose?
It is the North London derby tomorrow, at White Hart Lane. Tottenham are itching to improve their tepid at best start to the League, whilst Arsenal are looking to continue onwards and upwards, whilst kicking Spurs in the teeth to boot.
There will be some interesting encounters, starting with the two managers. One has just declared his undying commitment to his club, the other is still hanging on, the divorce papers seemingly caught up in red tape after the powers that be sought a quickie divorce…
The match up that really intrigues us is the battle between Gareth Bale and Theo Walcott. The Daily Mail has told us that the two
“were starry-eyed 15-year-old room-mates at the Southampton Academy when they made their way nervously to Norwich for an Under-18 fixture one evening in January 2005.”
These one time bedroom buddies now play for two mortal enemies, Bale, who shook off an early season injury has looked promising in glimpses, most notably in the full blown gallop and goal against Fulham. Walcott will probably be on the bench tomorrow, but he has toiled with a talent-numbing shoulder injury, since Sven threw him in the England World Cup squad.
So who would you rather have. The Gareth ‘The Next Ryan Giggs’ Bale, or Theo ‘Sven’s Gamble’ Walcott…..

Got something to say?

Let me guess:
All the Arsenal supporters are going to choose Theo Walcott and all the Spurs supporters are going to choose Gareth Bale.
Anyone care to surprise me?
why not write this utter crap when it isn’t utter crap, in lets say a year or two when we know what they are like u thick nonce of a writer!
Nope.
I’d take Bale over Walcott and I’m an Arsenal fan…
I’m an Arsenal fan. And I’d say Bale seems to be making a real contribution to Spurs at the mo. Walcotts contribution has been fleeting (Carling Cup final for instance). I think Bale may have at the end of this season bedded in at Spurs more than Theo has at Arsenal. However I think Walcotts explosive pace makes him a genuinely exciting prospect. It’s been said before but when he makes runs it brings people to their feet. So I’d stick with Theo.
Walcott of course if Bale was any good he would be playing for Arsenal.
Simple……………….Walcott
walcott and i am a liverpool fan
i WOULD TAKE BALE,walcott has got a lot of pace to burn but he is not ready technically, when he plays he seems to be very nervous because the arsenal players are technically very good, he prob feels out of place but i think in 2years we will see his potential realised.
Bale doesnt seem to have that nervousness about him and is good on the ball and got very good delivery 7/10 times and im an arsenal supporter
i will choose walcott because we are really seeing the type of player he is now, last season was stoppped beacuse of his shoulder injury, now for the u-21 and the sparta game he was execellent he still needs to improve on his crossing thou.
i will choose emmm
his young
his quick
his theo
i’d take walcoot over bale anyday, its a frikking no brainer guys…c’mon man…and this coming from a Spur fan…sometimes u just gotta accept that ur deadliest rivals have a better player than u….sad but true…walcott is destined to be the greatest EVER striker in our history of football…
Theo…cause he is more exciting than bale.
bale this season, walcott for the next 10 seasons
Easy Theo he is going to be the next King of Europe………. Thierry Henry
cant we have blanchflower back. Great days.
wallcot is better
liverpool fan

you mean ryan babel
walcott and bale both have potential greatness ahead of them. but theo has wenger and bale has jol(ly fat bastard), that should answer it!
Theo every single time - I don’t even know why this question is being asked?!?

I could not agree more.
The thing is even if Walcott only turns out to be one of the top 5 forward in the premiership and Bale turns out to be the top left back in the premiership* Walcott would still have more value and be a better player because he’s a forward.
*Doubtful because Arsenal have Armand Traore who is 17 and more talented than Bale, but for this exercise we’ll say Bale becomes the best.
Walcott of course,Bale will be good soon then he’ll join a real club! U realise Spuds are utds feeder club
Their by far the greatest team the championship has ever seen, tottenham!! ha ha

Actually, Clichy is fairly young. And, that’s who Bale has to best to be the top left back in the Prem. In my eyes (grnted very tinted arsenal red) Clichy has already surpassed Cole. this year he started to become really dangerous attacking in the final third. Much better decision making distributing that final ball.
I would take Walcott and Bale to avoid Bale’s disappointment of always being a loser in the Spurs team.
I’d say Walcott but I think Bale has a fantastic future ahead of him, but there’s a couple of reasons why I say Walcott instead. Bale has been more prominent to date due to the NEED for Tottenham and Wales to play him to date. Tottenham won’t hesitate to play him because he offers Spurs something they don’t have, a left sided winger, so he gets a chance to shine there, and the wing is a natural position for him as opposed to Theo. Wales need him because they’re crap and he’s good so he gets a chance at international level. England don’t need Walcott because they have Owen and a bunch of other, older strikers so he’s used sparingly (although he excels at under 21 level), WC call up aside. Arsenal have also used him somewhat sparingly too because we have a lot of talented players that are slightly older than him and ahead of him and because he’s not been played in his favoured position, striker.
However he’s still been given his chance at Arsenal and put in some great performances and he has a great future ahead of him too I’m sure. To date he’s scored (beautifully) in a cup final and helped turn a champions league match (against Hamburg), which are achievements that I doubt Bale will ever achieve in his time at Spurs because, y’know, they’re Spurs. Plus he’s under the watchful eye of one of the best managers when it comes to developing young talent in the world, and Wenger will probably keep him level-headed (he’s a pretty level-headed kid already) and make sure he doesn’t make him give too much too soon. I’m sure he’ll become a big star in the future, edging Bale slightly. The sooner Bale goes to a big club though, the better (I remember reading somewhere once that he was an Arsenal fan? The whole Tottenham squad seems to be full of them). Although I’m sure his time at Tottenham will give him very valuable experience.
clicy is better than bale.

By a mile
Walcott is a mediocrity, Bale all the way
bale hasnt shined as much as he can
he’s gonna be like ryan giggs, too bad united didnt get him. he would have been a class replacement
uhh has walcott done ANYTHING in the EPL? hes short, loses to any challenge, and has the pace a 16 year old should
bale has come on to a struggling team and provided a spark, aggressively attacking 1v1’s and breaking down defenders. its resulted in his own goal and plenty of chances. he is by far the best choice.
Walcott made the mistake of joining arsenal because of henry. He was only there for around a year, and now walcott wants to go to barcelona. Great decision there Theo.
Wenger is a douchebag for hyping up walcott’s england spot when he can’t even play him in epl matches. Now wenger is avoiding that possibility so he doesn’t cough up another 5 million pounds to southampton.
The next francis jeffers. At least liverpool rescued pennant.
Did someone just mention armand traore will be the best left back in the EPL?
Don’t you mean djimi traore?
i would have to say walcott he is a good player and also i am a liverpool supporter
hmm, Walcott was more effective on the weekend and he didn’t play! Has anyone showed Bale what the goals look like - I think he was trying to kick the ball to one of his mates in the 34th row.
Bad comparison in my opinion. Bale will become a LB eventualy. Imo walcott shoald be compared to ryan babel. Both men are insanely fast and they will probably go on to be the true successors to henry.
Brady - Not a great point to make considering Bale has scored 3 goals in 5 starts this season from left mid/def…. he certainly knows where the goal is
i’d take both but spurs got their dirty hands on bale 1st, so i will just have walcott.
anyway, bale is a left winger and walcotts a striker, so it is possible to take both.
