Grumpy Llng-baller Tony Pullis has imposed a news black-out on talk of new signings at Stoke, despite confirming that he is searching high and low for players. Instead, the Stoke manager, who is as charming as Neil Warnock’s language, wanted to focus the attention on his fifth placed team. Particularly the oldies, he told the Stoke Sentinel:
“Dominic [Matteo] did smashing”
“We said to Rory [Delap] to take a chance on his fitness because he’s got two weeks off afterwards. We needed that bit of experience in there and everybody wants to play at the moment because of the spirit we’ve go.”
And they have got quite a spirit, despite their lack of big money they are certain to be fighting for the play-offs at the end of the season.
As for that transfer gossip. We’ve heard heard they will sign [CENSORED] and [BANNED BY LAWYERS] to play alongside [SHH, IT’S PRIVATE] upfront.
But are the results proving Stoke don’t need any help, or would the club be smarter not to rest on its laurels?
