Watford’s bleach-topped striker Darius Henderson has claimed the September player of the month award in the Championship.
His five goals in five games was considered a far more impressive achievement than Sheffield United’s James “I used to be considered for England, you know” Beattie, West Brom’s Felipe Teixeira and Coventry’s Michael Mifsud, who were also in the frame.
The bad news for Henderson was that he signed a new Watford contract at the beginning of September, before his wage-rocketting form kicked in. That’s Aidy for you, always one step ahead.
