Championship Prediction Mania
by Josh on October 19th, 2007Like the first day back at school after half-term, domestic football returns tomorrow and it doesn’t look too appealing. But wait, don’t run off to MFI to buy that decking for garden just yet, their are some appealing fixtures in the Championship. How about Neil warnock’s first game in charge of Crystal Palace? Then, of course, there is the battle of the B-ley teams at Oakwell (ok, we’re stretching it here). What will happen is anyone’s guess, but why not show your guess is better than ours by challenging our predictions, below:
Cut and paste into the comments with your own predictions, or just put down a few thoughts:

Just can’t see the potters taking anything from the Sheffield Wednesday game. Yes, it’s true that Sheffield have had an awful start but i think its only at matter of time before they start turning teams over in a repeat of their form from last season. You only have to look at their squad on paper to conclude that they should be up there or thereabouts come the end of the championship season.

You may be right about the Southampton game except for one thing - Saints dont like losing to teams being managed by sacked former managers and Dave Jones qualifies as such in my book.He was lucky to come away with a point last season and I would be surprised if he did any better this. The only slight doubt I have is as regards Saints defence - in spite of fresh recruits Davies is out injured yet to play a game,Powell injury prone as ever has a slight pull and may not play.Mettomo is not match fit,Dakin and Lundekvam are out for three months need I say more. However if the team attacks and defends as a unit they could just sneak a win by the odd goal.Cardiff fancy themselves so they are not going to play eleven at the back which may be their undoing. Should be a great game.
