The Times is reporting that Didier Drogba could be off to a new club sooner than expected with Lyon the first club to register their interest in Didsy-Widsy. Lyons president Jean-Michel Aulas described it as a “dream†to sign Drogba, who has already declared his intention to leave “broken” Chelsea. Aulas continued:
“Everything is possible in football, Didier Drogba is an exceptional footballer who loves France. We had an asset [to make him come] here, Florent Malouda, who was playing for us. Unfortunately, he has left for Chelsea. If we had to sign both of them, it is maybe beyond our means.â€
Would Drogba, already rumoured to have started Italian lessons in preparation for a possible Italian reunion with his lover mentor Jose Mourinho, really leave for Lyon? Highly doubtful, Serie A or La Liga will be his next stop as Droggers has always banged on about a new challenge at the top level. Winning the French league for the 5815th time in a row with Lyon probably doesn’t qualify.
