Tottenham manager to be sacked, for the millionth time

Big Martin Jol is a fighting ogre, he has bravely fought back from the potentially grievous wounds that he received during Levy and co’s ‘stab in the front’ campaign, he was seconds away from victory at Anfield, and literally clawed his job back during the Spurs-Villa game, after all this you would expect him to get a little bit of respect from the board. You’d be wrong though, because the Daily Mail is reporting that Martin Jol will on his dutch bike if he doesn’t impress against Blackburn this Sunaday. Will that really be the last time we hear the glorious words “Have no fear, Jolly is here”?

Daily Mail reporter Neil Ashton says that :

“Tottenham could be bottom of the League by the time they kick off on Sunday and Sportsmail understands that defeat in front of their own supporters is likely to spell the end for the Dutchman. Although they face Spanish side Getafe in the UEFA Cup at White Hart Lane on Thursday, the biggest test of chairman Daniel Levy’s patience will be against Blackburn.”

The Mail goes on to claim that Jol has lost the respect of his four strikers (or at least three), as Defoe wont sign a new extension whilst Jolly is in charge, Bent has only bagged one League goal, and then there is Berbatov, who after the Newcastle farce where he had to be asked three times by Jol to come on off the bench.

A quote from reserve ‘keeper Radek Cerny, who came in for Paul Robinson at St James’ Park reflects the tension and panic in the Tottenham squad, the Czech keeper said:

“We have a young team and the players are getting nervous. We are under a lot of pressure. It is a very difficult period for us. We have won only once this season and we need points quickly. The players are hurting that we are in the bottom three at this stage of the season. We have unbelievable players and before the season everyone was tipping us for the top four. It can’t go on. We are Tottenham and we have to win the next league game.”

Will Sunday be Jolly’s last day?
