Poll reveals fans want someone, anyone, else as next Bolton manager

Jerzy Dudek and his crazy dancing in the Champions League final, there’s an amusing Pole. And here’s another one, the poll (arf arf, pun fans) to see who fans want as the next Bolton manager; anyone that chairman Phil Gartside doesn’t.
According the The Guardian, and they’d have no reason to lie to us (beyond the events of October 17, 2004, but we don’t have time to go into that now), The Bolton Evening news polled readers about the next manager:

“The poll listed four names the Bolton chairman has considered in the past week as he seeks to repair a remarkable downturn in fortunes since Sam Allardyce left in April: Megson, Chris Coleman, Steve Bruce and Graeme Souness.”

And who came bottom? Surely not Gartside’s favourite choice?

“Megson came bottom with a meagre 1.7%, or 12 votes from the 699 cast”

Oh dear. So which of the other three was the preferred choice?

“A fifth name was also up for election, ‘Other’, and it was he who romped home with over 50% of the vote.”

Technically, we at COS count as ‘Other’ and thank you for your votes. But no, sadly, we would not like the challenge of keeping Bolton in the Premier League and must politely refuse your offer.
