Tottenham Won’t Be Getting Any Sevilla Players

All managers do it when they take over a new job, they have a sneaky look back at their old club, seeing if they can poach any of their favourites. The Sun is reporting that new Tottenham boss Juande Ramos is no different and is considering bagging up some of his favourite boys from Seville and shipping them off to north London. Seville President Jose Maria del Nido thinks differently, and has warned Ramos off the idea of buyung Daniel Alves, Frederic Kanoute (!) and Christian Poulsen.

Del Nido, speaking with the snarky venom of someone whose manager has just jumped ship for pastures new, said :

“We are not planning to sell any of our players. If anyone wants to get any of our players they will have to pay their get-out clauses in full. Some of Seville’s players have huge clauses in their contracts which prevent them from leaving the club on the cheap.

The Seville President then went off on one saying that he didn’t want to speak of sneaky swine Juande Ramos ever, ever, EVER again. Del Nido said:

“Ramos told us he was quitting and that was in spite of the serious damage this decision would cause. We would like to thank him for his contribution and the five cups he won here. But because of the damage he has caused, we won’t speak of Ramos again.”

Until Spurs inevitably bid for one of Sevilla’s stars, and Del Nido comes out swinging.
