Cocky Portuguese winger Christiano Ronaldo reckons that Manchester United will win the two big ones, the Premier League and Champions League.
Stopping to tweeze his eyebrows for a minute, Ronaldo continued:
“I believe we’ll win the Premier League and Champions League this season. We have the team, we have the players and we believe we can do it. There’s a good chance we will. I’m at one of the best clubs in the world and I must think like that. If I was still playing for Sporting Lisbon I wouldn’t say that but I play for Manchester United and we always have the opportunities to win the big trophies every season.”
Fighting talk from Ronaldo, especially ahead of Saturday’s potential grindhouse thriller against Arsenal, but Ronny had nothing but praise for the Gooners. Ronaldo said:
“Arsenal are very strong and are playing fantastic, attractive football. They are one of the most difficult teams to play against this season and that will be a big fight, a big game for us and we will see who is the best team. It’s always difficult but it’s a good opportunity to see how good we are. Arsenal have started well but the season is a marathon — you need to be consistent.â€
So will Ronny and his Manchester United teammates win the big two trophies come the end of the season?
