And any real Man Utd fans (you know, the ones that go to Gigg Lane to watch FC United) will surely be telling all and sundry that this is the greatest team ever put together at the Theatre of Trafford. Fergie is firmly in that second camp after thrashing Dymamo Kiev 4-0.
“The great thing about this team is that they are always capable of creating chances, either through individual ability or good combination play,” he said. “There is never a moment in any game when you feel that we have reached a dead end in terms of imagination and creativity. We have so many players capable of a moment of brilliance. It doesn’t matter whether the opposition is playing three at the back or 20 at the back.”
Which for tactics fans is the formation that Rangers played against Barcelona a couple of weeks ago.
Rooney, Tevez, Ronaldo, that other one that runs in a similar fashion, Giggs, Scholes, O’Shea. Fergie’s attacking options are surely the best any team has ever had, and we include Arsenal. Anyone got the cheek to disagree?
