”Mad Artur’ thinks Celtic star can be better than Manchester United’s Ronaldo

Celtic’s younger and more promising equivalent of Arsenal’s Mad Jens Lehmann, Artur Boruc, asserts that the stereotypical Glasgow-based midfielder Aiden McGeady is equal to, if not better than pansy and part-time footballer Cristiano Ronaldo. For those who know Artur, his ability to provoke Rangers supporters is only something that a man of utter respect can act upon.

Boruc said after McGeady scored the only goal to beat Benfica in the UEFA Champions League:

“Aiden was really unbelievable. He made so many great runs and was so important for our team.
“I think he can be better than Cristiano Ronaldo. That’s my opinion. Aiden is still young and can only get better.
“I’ve played a few games against Ronaldo now and, while it’s hard to compare the two players, Aiden has the ability to be better.”

We’re sure all football supporters encourage team motivation – except in cases where the terms ‘impossible’ ‘unrealistic’ are appropriate. For instance – ‘Despite new ownership, it is ‘impossible’ and ‘unrealistic’ for QPR to ever make Division One’. As much as Aiden McGeady is a very good footballer for his age – the likelihood that he’ll surpass Ronaldo is almost as non-existent as those of Royal Blood being seen within 50km of Merseyside. Boruc, employing confidence in to a youngster is mature and reputable but you may have taken compliments just a teensy bit too far.

But we’ve only seen McGeady in the odd Champions League match or Old Firm derby, any Celtic fans out there think Boruc is onto something?
