Aston Villa and Tottenham Keepers Fight For “Least Crap English Keeper” Accolade..

Better late than never is the sort of meaningless phrase that Steve McClaren trots out for fun at his press conferences. But as far as we know he hasn’t said that yet about the impending inclusion of Scott Carson in the England squad. And quite rightly so, because it isn’t is it Steve, the damage is already done. By Paul Robinson. Who we all said you shouldn’t pick. But you didn’t. And had to pay the price, hopefully with your job. You goon.

Sorry, got a bit carried away there. Anyway, back to Scott Caron’s impending England debut on Friday night.

First, we like Scott Carson. Not many footballers would have come up with the comment “Ray Clemence has got more chance of starting a game for England than me at the moment”, so well done there Scott. He is also relieable and looks much older than he is. Rumour is he spent the summer on a Saga holiday with fellow face of experience David Nugent. But you don’t have to listen to us, here are some others that believe Carson’s international debut is long overdue.

“It will be a great experience for Scott if he plays. It is what he needs and what England needs,”

Nigel Martin

“After only a few training sessions we decided that we didn’t need another goalkeeper because we were so happy with Scott.”

Rafa the gaffer.

“He is a great goalkeeper with a great future,”

Petr Cech.

What took you so long Steve?
