With the transfer window edging closer, stories of Peter Crouch rotating his way out of Anfield are picking up steam as usual. Portsmouth and Newcastle have both been mentioned by various “unnamed sources” in the tabloids and it’ll only get worse from there.
Crouchy is in the unique position of being rated by pretty much everyone but those who matter – his managers. Rafa Benitez and Steve McClaren treated the lanky lad like a second rate citizen, only used as a novelty act or last resort despite a stellar and consistent scoring record for club and country.
