The Independent is reporting that the jowly, hangdog-faced reign of Sam Allardyce could be at an end, and considering that firing your manager is the latest fad in the Premier League, with even Rafa Benitez being sucked into the sacking rumour whirlpool – Big Sham should be very worried.
The Independent reckons that Allardyce only has one game left to convince owner Mike Ashley that he is a good fit at Newcastle; and that one game? This Wednesday against Arsenal at St James’ Park – Ooops!
The Independant does temper all the heady talk with the fact that:
“As he did against Sunderland, Ashley spent the 90 minutes in the away end with Newcastle’s 6,000 travelling fans – who were supportive of Allardyce – and after the 3-1 defeat Ashley then made his way to the foyer at Ewood Park where he was seen shaking hands with Allardyce, smiling and was even overheard to be inviting the under-pressure manager out for a drink.”
But will Ashley be as chirpy if Newcastle succumb to the velvet locomotive that is Arsenal?
