Fulham Target West Ham Striker In January Sales

Bobby Zamora was West Ham’s leading goalscorer last season but his days at Upton Park could be numbered. According to the Independent, there are a number of clubs interested in the former Spurs striker, with Fulham leading the way.

The Hammers forward had a flying start to the campaign last year, scoring five goals in his first four matches. However, he then had to wait until the New Year for his next goal and, with the likes of Ashton, Bellamy and Cole above him in the pecking order, it could be that he has to look elsewhere for first-team football.

Fulham have been unlucky with injured forwards this season, especially after Brian McBride suffered a serious knee injury in the early part of the season. Winger Clint Dempsey has been employed in an advanced role for many of the Cottagers’ recent games but Lawrie Sanchez now appears to be turning his attention to a more orthodox striker to fill that role.
