Arsenal are currently plagued with strikers – Robin van Persie, Eduardo, Emmanuel Adebayor, Theo Walcott and Nicklas Bendtner – and manager Arsene Wenger is seemingly not shy to flaunt the competition. With Arsenal being linked to the likes of Mputu, Ben Arfa, Benzema, Van der Vaart and Modric, the competition seems to be sizzling up, and Nicklas Bendtner has been consistently linked to a move away from Ashburton Grove. According to numerous sources, Chelsea have offered £12million for the 19 year old Danish International. Bendtner, who just returned from a loan-spell at Birmingham, is now in the sites of Avram Grant along with Nicolas Anelka and Benni McCarthy. Bendtner is seemingly unsettled due to his lack of first-team football – and Arsene has openly stated he does not want his young protege leaving.
Upon being questioned about the situation, Bendtner’s agent and father said to the Daily Mirror:
“I have no comment to make,”
Chelsea’s interest seems to be coming from their squad being minimized due to the African Nations Cup with forwards Didier Drogba and Salomon Kalou departing to serve their nations. ‘Should Bendtner stay or should he go? If you say that you are his, he’ll be there till the end of time.’ We’ve heard enough from Nicklas and his dad, make up your mind!
