Man United striker Louis Saha reckons that the current squad can match the 1999 treble legends and get a bulging swag bag full of trophies at the end of the season.
Saha told the Mirror:
“We can win everything this season. We can target the League and Cup Double. And then the Treble – we are capable of it. This group of players can win the Champions League.If there hadn’t been so many injuries and suspensions last year I’m sure we would have gone all the way. But things didn’t work out like that, and it still sticks in our throats now. We have seen the trophy slip by for quite a few years.”
Hmm, some pretty bold claims there – admittedly Manchester United have glided through their Champions League group, and are sitting pretty in second place in the Premier League – but the treble??? Did injury prone Saha, injure his head this time too?
