Barclays Premier League

Aston Villa 1-2 Portsmouth: I’m going for an away win here – Aston Villa have been superb recently, especially at home – but Portsmouth are red-hot, and in an outrageous Arsenal-esque run of form.

Chelsea 1-0 Sunderland: Mourinho is apparently in town nattering with the FA about the England job and I reckon that this performance (like many of late) will be very similar to the Mourinho era. Sunderland got battered 7-1 by Everton in their last away foray and Roy Keane will have them much tighter at the back.

Everton 2-0 Fulham: Everton have been on a strong run themselves, and their squad is now exuding a slight chubbiness, so it is hard to predict who will start for them. At Goodison they should be too strong for Fulham.

Man Utd 3-0 Derby: Hard to predict this one, will Jewell have sorted out Derby even a tiny bit?

Newcastle 2-1 Birmingham: Allardyce’s men will be on the crest of the Arsenal wave, and should bag three points here.

Reading 0-2 Liverpool: Liverpool will be too strong for Reading and won’t look to mess about at all, I expect a surgical 2-0 win.

Blackburn 2-0 West Ham: Blackburn at home, should be able to firmly grab all three points and I fancy them to do it by a two goal margin.

Bolton 3-1 Wigan: I think Megson’s men have gone from strength to strength – they are physical and have some great attacking options 3-1.

Middlesbrough 0-2 Arsenal: An away win to get Arsenal back on track after a tiny stutter last game – Southgate’s job looks more tenuous as the weeks roll by.

Tottenham 3-2 Man City: If they play Zokora at the back things might be a smidgen tighter in defence, but I still expect a goal fest – with a reversal of last week’s result.
