Tottenham Lose Yet Another Star To Long Term Injury

Posted by

The Guardian’s David Hytner reports that Tottenham have yet more injury misery to cope with. They will be without Gareth Bale for a minimum of three months – and if an ankle scan doesn’t go to plan, possibly the whole season. Spurs Director of Dossing About, Damien Comolli, said:

“Even if the examination reveals that Gareth’s foot is stable, the decision has been taken to bring him back slowly to ensure he does not get a repeat of the injury or suffer any further damage. Gareth is obviously disappointed to be sidelined for this length of time but he is still young and we have to do what is best for him in the long run.”

And added to this layer-cake of gut-wrenching Tottenham news is that fact that Bale is pretty much Tottenham’s only left-sided player, well apart from Benoit Assou-Ekotto. But he’s – yep, you guessed it – out for the season with a knee injury!
