Everton To Finally Win Something?

Everton have reacted to Mark Clattenburg’s japery in thje Merseyside Derby by going 10 games unbeaten, and now David Moyes reckons that they might actually win something! It’s been five and a half years since Moyes took over, and although he has dragged Everton up the League they have been pretty rotten in the Cup.
Things could start changing tonight though, when Everton face West Ham away in the Carling Cup – a competition they have never won and last got to the semi’s in 1988(!); Moyes said:

“West Ham away is a tough one. We need to defend well but I’m pleased with the way we’re attacking. Hopefully we can show that when we get chances.”

The Moyester also tried to explain Everton’s lame-duck cup performances, saying:

“One of the reasons we haven’t done that well in the cups over the years is because we’ve had some tough draws. We’ve been knocked out by Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United. The league will always be my priority but I would like to win a cup…But very few of the clubs outside the top four have won anything. We all want to get to a final — and if we did get that far then we’d want to win it. You strive to try and do that but it’s something we haven’t done.”

So can Everton nab some silverware this year?
