Arsenal Manager Set to Gamble on RVP Against Chelsea?

Robin Van Persie’s last league match for Arsenal occurred over two months ago, yet he could start for the Gunners in their humdinger against Chelsea according to The Guardian.

“Footballistically there was no problem for him,” Wenger told the club’s Web Site (www.arsenal.com). “He is challenging. Of course, he needs to regain a little bit of confidence… but on the footballing side he looks like he’s never been out.

“Van Persie is ready physically. But we have some other players who are injured like (Cesc) Fabregas, like (Alexander) Hleb and (Mathieu) Flamini.”

Respect to the Arsenal boss for use of the word ‘footballistically’ – surely to be seen in the next version of the English Oxford Dictionary. Although the Gunners are top of the league, striker Emmanuel Adebayor recently admitted that the team missed the flying dutchman, who has seven goals to his name this season.

Will his return give the North London club the spark they need to beat their London rivals?
