Has Berbatov ended his Tottenham career on an ultimate high?
by stresster on December 30th, 2007Whatever Tottenham fans might like to think, the future of Dimitar Berbatov is far from certain - just ask his manager Juande Ramos. The Daily Telegraph have reported that although the Spanish boss undoubtedly wants his superstar striker to stay at the club, it’s entirely possible that the Bulgarian has a few alternatives in mind.
“The chairman knows that I want Berbatov to stay,” he said. “If it was up to me, we would not lose him, but there are different circumstances and factors that we need to take into account, such as the player’s opinion and feeling.”
After a breathtaking performance against Reading, where Berbatov scored four of Tottenham’s six goals, it’s clear that Spurs can add a few million pounds to their original asking price. Will the Bulgarian’s love for the north London club be enough to keep him at White Hart Lane or will he be a Red Devil in a month’s time?

if he wants to go, let him! He’s the best player spurs have had for years but if the club cannot match his ambition, then he deserves to be playing for a bigger club!! Also we don’t a player pulling on the lilywhite jersey if he ain’t proud to be wearing it….
If he stays…….berbs i love you

bring him to man utd…we need him….we would have a great partnership upfront….rooney tevez saha and berba….who will stop us???

The problem is can Man Utd afford him + will he want to be on the subs bench on a regular basis, no garrentee of first team football!
Berbs will cost well in excess of £25m probably closer to £30m + his wages then the deal could be worth in excess of £50m i dont think the mancs will do this

Dimitar is going nowhere and he and the rest of the press may as well get used to it. Levy would not dare sell the guy at least until his contract is running down, and then only to a Spanish or Italian club. So, dream-on Mancs and the rest.

Keep up with the headlines mate! The current view of Skysports, Daily Mail, Sporting Life and everyone else is that Berbs is going nowhere in January. Levy has stated that Spurs are not a selling club and we are not allowing key players to leave! - The press are even more fickle than the fans!

I also don’t think Berby will be going anywhere in January, but, I also dont expect to see him in the lilywhite shirt next august either.
Levy says we’re not a selling club !!! - I’d be more inclined to believe him if Carrick was still a Spurs player !!!!

berba’s going nowhere……………………… yet !!!!!! . whether he’s wearing the lillywhite shirt of spurs come next august though is a different matter. i hope so, i really do. still, if the worst does happen, we’ve allway’s got darren bent !!!!!

Also Levy just said that he ain’t spending in January.
Great, so Spurs got Mitko(small for Dimitar in Bulgarian, and thats what everybody calls him) and………………………………………..I can wait.
Spurs are team that HOPE they will do something….someday. Action so far - very little. Got a good trainer - great, players-got Berbatov-almost by accident, and couple 3-4 good solid players who would not play in almost any of the top 6 teams in England.
Mitko is an upright guy and does not want to leave the Lane, but is bordering on stupidity, if better teams want him(even if he does not play every game-no one plays every game in balanced teams).

I feel Berb should move on to a club that would offer him Champs league football , a challenge for the premiereship title and the oppurtunity to play alongside quality players. Trust me that’s his ambition. Tottenham have no chance of keeping him next season.

He’ll leave in January and if the question is not can Man Utd afford him, it’s will Tottenham sell, they don’t need the money but they also don’t need an unhappy player.
