Bolton Wanderers are struggling dangerously just above the relegation zone in the English Premier League and are in desperate requirement of reinforcement in January. And they are doing just that.
Sky Sports reports that Bolton are on the verge of signing Gretar Steinsson from AZ Alkmaar. A deal has been struck between the two clubs and the full back will be handed a three-year contract with the club with the option of extending the contract by a year.
This is what Steinsson told De Telegraaf:
This is a great opportunity. Five years ago I came here on trial, but I was not good enough; now it seems I am. It is a wonderful club where many Icelanders have played.
Bolton are expected to hiccup £3million to Alkmaar for the player but that ought to be nothing should the player stern a poorly organized Bolton defense and help the club stave off the drop from the Premiership at the end of the season.
