No, we’re not making it up! Lassana Diarra (or the new Pele as he likes to call himself) has no sooner signed for Portsmouth than declared it’s just a temporary move where he can strut his stuff before a really big club come in for him. The Guardian report that the former Chelsea, Arsenal and soon-to-be Pompey midfielder can never be accused of lacking in self-confidence.
“The negotiations went very well,” he said. “The people at Portsmouth know that I will not spend my life at the club. I was able to add a clause to my contract. If I shine, if a really big club wants me, I already know that everything will go well. I don’t want any more battles.”
I’m sure it’s only a matter of time before Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson sells Cristiano Ronaldo to Real Madrid and replaces him with the most talented player ever to warm the bench in the Premier League.
