Recreativo de Huelva might be fighting for survival in La Liga this season but their star defender Martin Caceras would not be the one struggling with them for long. Goal.com reports that the Uruguayan youngster is at the heart of a three-horse race among Liverpool, Chelsea and Real Madrid.
Reports from Spain suggest that Real are the front runners to acquire the signature of the player who is actually on loan from Villarreal and is due to return to El Madrigal at the end of the season. Although the player himself has acknowledged that he is happy staying at Recre at the moment, he has also kept the option of moving to a bigger club open.
Chelsea do not exactly need a defender for the time being and it would be difficult for the Blues, even with their millions, to seduce the player to come to Stamford Bridge. Liverpool do not need another defender by any means and moving to the Bernabeu would only increase Caceras’s chances of warming he bench,
The best move for Caceras would be to stay with Recre until the end of the season and then switch to a bigger club with good ambitions and more importantly where he can regularly play games. After all, Caceras is only 20 and needs to play regularly for his own development.
