Birmingham 1-2 Chelsea – Chelsea will win this one, but not as convincingly as they would like. Put money on James McFadden to score on his debut from 30 yards out.

Blackburn 1-1 Middlesbrough – Boro are slowly curling out some half decent results, and I think they could be good value for a draw at Ewood Park.

Fulham 1-2 Arsenal – Arsenal should zip past Fulham, but I am not expecting the most polished of performances.

Newcastle 2-0 Bolton – Keegan is back, and with a monumental wave of support behind him his team should win this on adrenaline alone.

Portsmouth 0-1 Derby – Portsmouth at Fratton Park are almost a better prospect than facing them away – and Derby could capitalise (for once).

Reading 1-3 Man Utd – Yet another glorious win for United, they really are on fire right now.

Tottenham 2-1 Sunderland – Spurs should win this and I cannot see Sunderland’s defence having enough to repel them.

Man City 3-1 West Ham – This game is going to be a corker – and City will fizzle all the way to a good home win.

Wigan 0-2 Everton – AJ needs to perform for Everton in Yakubu’s absence but Arteta and Fernandes coming together again should be too much for Wigan.

Liverpool 2-0 Aston Villa – Despite John Carew’s poorly veiled wind-up, claiming that Villa should be able to beat Liverpool, I think the past week’s events will galvanize the Liverpool team. You just have to look at the number of players coming out and publicly defending Rafa to see how much the players respect him, on Monday they will want their feet to do the talking.
