Wigan Athletic seem to be entrusting their faith in Honduran talents. First they signed Wilson Palacios from the Honduran club Deportivo Olimpia and now they have added yet another player who manager Steve Bruce believes will bolster his side.
Sky Sports reports that Wigan have decided to give the left back Maynor Figueroa a contract that will see him through at the JJB until the end of the season and Bruce believes that the player is a good addition to his side.
Bruce told the club’s website:
He’s strong, he’s quick, he has a superb left foot and I think he has the attributes to adapt to the English game. He’s shown his desire to be with us by being away from his family all over Christmas and has shown plenty of potential in training.
Wigan are 17th in the Premiership table and are separated from the relegation zone only by goal difference. Things are looking bleak for the Lactics but can these Hondurans help the Blues stave off the drop?
