Birmingham City are doing all they can to stave off relegation and are signing the players with class and quality to help them sustain top flight status for at least one more season. Goal.com reports that the Midlands Blues have signed promising Argentine young striker Mauro Zarate from Qatar club Al-Saad on loan for until the end of the season.
The Argentine was signed by Al-Saad last summer from Argentine club Velez Sarsfield after impressing both in the Argentine championships and in the World Youth Cup. But he has since failed to live up to the expectations and has now been exported to England to help Birmingham avoid the drop from the Premiership.
But will Zarate be able to help Birmingham by scoring crucial goals? Are the club doing the right thing by bringing in such foreign players instead of looking for players closer to home?
