We were thinking of describing his as ‘former Liverpool star’, although given that Jari Litmanen only racked up twelve league starts in eighteen months at Anfield, we thought better of it! However, the Daily Telegraph report that it hasn’t stopped Fulham manager Roy Hodgson bringing the Finnish striker in on trial at Craven Cottage, hoping his experience and firepower can somehow keep them afloat.
“Jari has been working hard lately and he is fighting fit,” said Hodgson.
Hodgson should know, given that he managed the Finland national team until very recently. However, is this a shrewd move on the part of the Fulham gaffer or is he already starting to get desperate after witnessing his team lose at Upton Park and at home to Arsenal?
