Ancelotti is the world’s best coach – and Fergie’s No.2

Goal.com reports that the International Federation of Football History and Statistics has acknowledged Carlo Ancelotti as the best coach of 2007.

As if anyone else came within a close range! Ancelotti managed AC Milan to UEFA Champions League triumph last season and also won the UEFA Super Cup and the World Club Cup. While Milan have vastly under-performed in the Italian Serie A both last season and this time round, no one can take away the credit from Ancelotti, who also won the Champions League with Milan.

But Premier League followers do have a reason to smile. The IFFHS, the organisation that records the history of football, regards Sir Alex Ferguson as the second-best manager of last year. Fergie led Manchester United to the semi-finals of the Champions League last season and also regained the Premier League title.

Juande Ramos came third in the rankings although Spurs do not have much reason to celebrate since the Spaniard got the accolade for his sorcery with Sevilla. The Spanish club won the UEFA Cup for the second time in a row in 2007 and also stretched their La Liga hopes to the final day of last season.
