Jens Lehmann appears to be a fish out of water. The 38-year old German international declined a loan deal with Borussia Dortmund for until the end of the season last week and was dreaming of moving to mighty Bayern Munich in the summer.
But as Football365 reports, Bayern have said that they don’t need Lehmann at the Allianz Arena in the summer. General manager Uli Hoeness says:
We have promised Michael over and over again that he would be our first choice when Oliver Kahn retires. It would be relatively senseless to replace one 38-year-old with another, besides Lehmann is not the sort of player to sit on the bench waiting for Michael to get ill or injured.
Dream over, Mr. Lehmann. The German custodian is almost guaranteed not to be given many games by Arsenal at the Emirates for the rest of the season and he must be fuming inside him now that he has to search for a club in the summer. Hopefully Lehmann will be in the German national squad for the Euro 2008 finals in Austria and Switzerland inn the summer.
