He failed to make his loan deal at West Ham United permanent and then failed to impress at Racing Santander and even at Lazio the versatile wing back has not rediscovered his Depor form.
But maybe time could change. Goal.com reports that the 29-year old is set to return to Real Mallorca this month after falling out with Lazio. Scaloni has been sparingly used at the Italian side and wants regular football. Mallorca provide him the perfect opportunity to do so since the Islanders’ player Angelos Basinas departs for Turkish giants Galatasaray this week. Sacaloni is set to sign an 18-month contract with the Spanish club. Yet you cannot shrug off the feeling that Lionel Scaloni is past his prime.
