Despite the best efforts of his agent Emil Dantchev to bring about a transfer to a ‘big club’, it appears that Tottenham’s Dimitar Berbatov couldn’t be happier at White Hart Lane right now. It’s little wonder after the Bulgarian and his team-mates thrashed Arsenal 5-1 on Tuesday night to secure their place in the Carling Cup final against Chelsea or Everton next month.
The Daily Mail report that Tottenham’s star striker is a happy bunny and makes you wonder whether Berba ever wanted a move away after Juande Ramos took over as manager.
When asked about his future, he said: “I am happy here, everyone is happy. This will be my first game at Wembley and everybody is excited. The boys have told me it is a legendary stadium and I am looking forward to seeing it.
“I will relish the moment. It is one thing to watch a game at Wembley, another to actually play.
“Our performance against Arsenal was magnificent. The way we played and supported each other is exactly what I want to see. If we play like that we have a great future.
“I know we can achieve a lot. Sometimes we underestimate our ability, but this game was an example of what we can do when we believe in our quality and play like we did.”
He has been linked with Manchester United, Chelsea and Manchester City in the past month – the big question remains – where is the outrageous Kevin Keegan bid from Newcastle United?
