Manchester United and Arsenal have bagged much of the headlines (the positive ones) so far this season. But Chelsea custodian Petr Cech is one player who is not ready to accede defeat and is adamant that writing off the Blues would be a massive mistake.
FootballUK quotes the Czech international as saying:
Chelsea are the team to fear now. With everything that has happened this season, we have got through with great character and hope we can keep going like that right until the end. Winning all four competitions is possible. We have people missing at the Africa Cup of Nations, important players are injured and we are using all the squad. It is great to know that everyone here has the quality and that we can keep playing well and winning. Imagine when everyone comes back. We will be stronger again and able to rotate and rest players. We are really looking forward to the next part of the season.
Actually, Cech is right. The Londoners have played better football under Avran Grant and although the Israeli is not a high profile manager, under him the Blues have lost just twice in 28 matches. That’s some record! And Cech also has a valid point when he says that the squad is missing a number of personnel. So is this going to be Chelsea’s season?
