This piece of news might well be a bin material but it is well worth a glance. KopTV reports that Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez is linked to Lukas Podolksi of Bayern Munich and may well try and land the frustrated German international this month.
Podolski has been warming the bench for Bayern so far this season with Miroslav Klose and Luca Toni starting matches regularly for the German Bundesliga leaders and now that Bayern have signed Goran Pandev from Lazio, it appears that Podolski has no chance of threading his way through to the first team.
Manchester City are said to be the most likely followers of the player but Bayern have already said that they are in no mood to out loan the player for the rest of the season. Rafa tried his luck at convincing Arsenal for Theo Walcott but couldn’t manage to shift Arsene Wenger of his stance. So will he go for Podolski? Well, Liverpool do not need any striker at all and one fails to see why Rafa would try and lure Podolski to come to Anfield.
