Aston Villa see their England Under 21 defender Gary Cahill as surplus but do not want to let him go without getting a healthy amount of money. The Bolton News has reported that Villa rejected a £4 million bid for the player by Bolton Wanderers.
This could well spark a few other struggling clubs such Birmingham City, Derby County and Sunderland in cut-throat bidding rivalry. Not much of a surprise really since all the aforementioned club need to shore up their defense and that is why they would be looking towards Cahill.
