The Sun reports that although Spurs last night managed to get their hands on Jonathan Woodgate – he was crippled before they signed him with a hamstring tweak that could have him out for a couple of weeks.
Spurs splurged £7million on Woody but the Sun are already asking if they have another Darren “Sicknote” Anderton on their hands, a man whose relationship with Tottenham was solely consummated on the treatment table.
Spurs beat off late interest from Aston Villa to bag their man and The Sun claims that:
“Woody signed a 3½-year contract with a two-year option in a deal that could be worth as much as £65,000 a week. Spurs boss Juande Ramos has been searching for a dominant centre-half to partner Ledley King.”
So will Woody be the answer or just another problem?
