Despite suffering a kick in the teeth with all the trimmings and succumbing to a last minute defeat at the hands of West Ham, a fifth league game without a win, Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez reckons that his boys will still make it into the top four and secure an invite to the Champions League cash-fest.
The Guardian reports that when the matter of fourth place was broached with the Spaniard, he replied:
“Yes. The Champions League. Did you think we deserved to lose today? I think we deserved to win. We will improve. We can improve.”
So can they really make it, or is Rafa using smoke and mirrors to divert attention from his team’s mephitic form of late?
